Job Description
The Quality Control Technician II performs all duties of a QC Tech I, with additional responsibilities in verification, calibration, and product quality assessments to ensure high standards of food safety and quality.
Responsibilities
- Perform product temperature checks throughout production.
- Conduct ATP equipment hygiene checks.
- Inspect equipment for cleanliness and sanitation readiness.
- Perform Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) inspections.
- Conduct sanitizer concentration verification.
- Measure pH and salt concentrations.
- Perform pre-operational inspections prior to production start-up.
- Verify water temperatures to ensure compliance.
- Accurately document all results and report deviations to QA leadership.
- Perform all QC Tech I responsibilities.
- Conduct thermometer calibrations.
- Perform seal integrity checks using vacuum testing equipment.
- Collect sensory and retain samples.
- Conduct sensory evaluations of finished products.
- Verify label accuracy and compliance.
- Communicate food safety and quality concerns to supervisors and production teams.
- Experience in the meat industry.
- Proficiency in computer skills.
- Familiarity with weight, temperature checking, and pH readings.
- Detail-oriented with strong attention to quality assurance.
- Bachelor's degree in Food Science is helpful.
The position offers an opportunity for long-term growth after a six-month contract duration.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract position based out of Carson, CA.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $23.70 - $24.57/hr.
