Job Description
The QA Associate role provides essential hands-on, on-the-floor quality support to the Quality team, assisting with day-to-day inspection, documentation, and nonconformance activities. This position is crucial in ensuring compliance with quality standards and maintaining accurate documentation to support production.
Responsibilities
- Perform in-process and receiving inspections using calipers and other measurement tools.
- Review Device History Records (DHRs) for GDP compliance and ensure accurate documentation.
- Document inspection findings and verify resolution before sign-off.
- Create, review, and close Nonconformance Reports (NCRs), participating in MRB activities.
- Support part movement and NCR transactions within ERP (IFS).
- Review and release quality documentation.
- Assist with backlog reduction in receiving inspection and quality documentation processes.
- Strong hands-on quality experience in a regulated environment.
- Proficient in performing in-process and receiving inspections using calipers and precision measurement tools.
- Experience reviewing Device History Records (DHRs) for GDP compliance.
- Experience managing the full NCR lifecycle (creation, MRB coordination, and closure).
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings for inspection accuracy.
- Familiarity with ERP and QMS systems and document control.
- Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment.
- Coachable and open to learning new systems and processes.
- Strong communication and team collaboration skills.
- Ability to take initiative and work with minimal oversight.
- Comfortable working both independently and cross-functionally.
The work environment is on-site and hands-on, based on the manufacturing floor with a first shift schedule from 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM. The role involves a mix of inspection work and documentation review, utilizing standard inspection tools such as calipers and measurement equipment. There is frequent cross-functional interaction with QA, QE, and MRB teams. The environment is fast-paced with a high daily task volume.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of San Diego, CA.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $25.00 - $27.00/hr.
