Product Safety Test Engineer

We are seeking a dedicated Product Safety Test Engineer to define, set up, and conduct safety tests including thermal, input current, and capacitor discharge tests. The role requires an individual who can read schematics, understand PCB layouts, and identify safety-critical components, with 2-5 years of experience in product safety testing or equivalent.

• Define, set up, and execute various safety tests such as thermal, input current, and capacitor discharge.
• Read and interpret schematics and PCB layouts to identify safety-critical components.
• Ensure compliance with basic safety standards, including IEC60950-1.
• Work proficiently with laboratory tools such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, dielectric withstand equipment, touch current meters, traffic generators, data acquisition systems, calipers, and thermal imaging devices.
• Participate in the CSA Supervised Manufacturer’s Test for Certification Program and UL Data Acceptance Program or similar ISO/IEC CTF Stage 3 accredited programs.

• 2-5 years of experience in product safety testing or equivalent.
• Proficiency in defining and setting up tests using laboratory tools.
• Knowledge of basic safety standards, specifically IEC60950-1.
• Ability to read schematics and PCB layouts.

• Experience in Test Automation using Python or LabVIEW.
• Networking experience with a certification such as CCNA or equivalent.
• Experience with Compliance, RF, and EMC.
• Involvement in CSA Supervised Manufacturer’s Test for Certification Program and UL Data Acceptance Program.

The position requires working onsite in the lab from Monday to Friday. You will have the opportunity to test advanced networking products and develop your skill set in a leading company in the networking and telecommunications industry.

This is a Contract position based out of San Jose, CA.

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $30.00/hr.

This is a fully onsite position in San Jose,CA.
