Job Description
We are seeking a Process Controls Engineer responsible for designing, developing, installing, managing, and maintaining equipment used to monitor and control machinery and processes. The successful candidate will ensure these systems operate effectively, efficiently, and safely.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop new control systems.
- Test, maintain, and modify existing systems.
- Provide technical guidance for Engineers, Technicians, and Operators.
- Collaborate with design engineers, operation engineers, purchasers, and other internal staff.
- Manage projects within cost and time-constrained environments.
- Troubleshoot and solve problems.
- Recommend reliability improvements.
- Specify and purchase equipment.
- Assist in developing and maintaining Process Control Narratives.
- Develop and maintain a 5-year rolling plan to upgrade and maintain process control equipment.
- Develop and program process control logic in DCS, PLC, VFDs, and SCADA systems.
- Accept responsibility and accountability commensurate with the seniority of the position.
- Train engineers, maintenance personnel, and plant operators in the areas of process controls.
Essential Skills
- Proficiency in DCS, PLC, APC, SCADA, Allen-Bradley, and/or PLC programming.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent, preferably in Electrical, Electronic, Control, or Automation Engineering.
- 5 years of industrial experience in fast-paced environments.
- In-depth knowledge of process instrumentation and industrial control systems.
- Ability to read P&IDs and electrical schematics.
- Networking experience with SAP, Hyper-V, Emerson Virtualization, Thin Client, and/or DeltaV.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- DeltaV exposure is advantageous.
- Understanding of industrial communication protocols such as EthernetIP, ModbusTCP/IP, HART, and OPC.
- Knowledge of Windows Hyper-V Virtual environment, Emerson Virtualization, and Thin Clients.
- Experience in configuring and maintaining systems.
Work Environment
The position is based in a production and R&D facility within a chemical plant. Once fully trained, there is an opportunity to work a hybrid schedule with 2-3 days a week remote. The company is stable, with very little turnover and no history of layoffs since its acquisition. Employees are eligible for an 11% bonus potential, relocation assistance, and a supportive work culture.

This is a Permanent position based out of San Antonio, TX.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $120000.00 - $150000.00/yr.
11% bonus potential (based on personal performance and company performance)-Payout each year is March 15th but they must actively be employed by payout date
relocation assistance, lump sum payment (taxable) on first paycheck, up to 15k
