Principal Systems Engineer

As a Principal Engineer in Systems Engineering, you will employ a comprehensive understanding of standard systems engineering principles to tackle complex problems from conception to final design, with team input. You will plan, schedule, and lead project assignments in evaluating, selecting, and adapting various engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria with minimal guidance. In this role, you will apply general system techniques for root cause analysis on existing project issues, drive updates to system documentation, collaborate with quality on CAPA/NCR issues, initiate new product development from a system perspective, and work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.

• Demonstrate good business judgment in balancing budget, profitability, and vendor relationships.
• Apply life cycle management principles within exploratory, new product development, or sustaining phases.
• Perform as an independent reviewer in technical and design reviews and propose solutions to sophisticated technical problems.
• Leverage knowledge of technology, process, and therapy domains to drive solutions and product design realization.
• Demonstrate understanding of and adherence to FDA, ISO, and IEC design control procedures, regulations, and standards.
• Apply risk scenarios and technical risk mitigation tools to ensure optimal outcomes.

• At least 3 years of experience with MBSE, Simulink, modeling, and simulation.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical, Bio-Medical, or related field, and 6 years of related experience.
• Experience in system engineering practices including risk analysis, requirements documentation, and corrective and preventive actions.
• Expertise in safety-critical products and domains such as medical, aerospace, and automotive.
• Solid understanding of theories/practices applied by other fields outside primary area of expertise.
• Ability to convince management on courses of action with minimal assistance using both written and verbal methods.
• Experience with embedded or application software development.

• Ability to operate effectively in cross-functional teams.
• Provide solutions that reflect an understanding of business objectives and cost implications.

The work environment supports flexibility, requiring a minimum of 3 days a week onsite to facilitate in-person collaboration. The role involves engaging in cross-disciplinary interactions and ensuring adherence to industry standards and procedures.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $100000.00 - $130000.00/yr.
