Phlebotomist

We are seeking a dedicated phlebotomist for a traditional role that includes significant processing, centrifuging, and order entry. This position is heavily customer-service oriented and requires proficiency in data entry, particularly within the LabCorp Touch system. Primary responsibilities will involve drawing blood, with this task comprising 70% of the role.

Responsibilities

• Enter orders and perform data entry.
• Draw blood from patients of all ages, including pediatric and geriatric patients.
• Process and ship specimens accurately and efficiently.
• Use centrifuges for specimen processing.
• Ensure cleanliness and restocking of the work area.
• Confirm patient information and communicate effectively with doctor offices.
• Achieve a daily target of approximately 120 blood draws.

• Proficiency in phlebotomy and venipuncture techniques.
• Experience with centrifuge operation.
• Strong data entry skills.
• Excellent customer service abilities.
• Capability to handle medical records and patient information with confidentiality.

• Completion of an externship or relevant hospital experience.
• Geriatric patient experience is beneficial.
• Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) and Basic Life Support (BLS) certifications are advantageous.
• At least one year of active phlebotomy experience preferred.

This position operates within a patient service center that can be quite busy. The role requires standing for approximately 50% of the time. The work schedule varies within the hours of 4:45 AM to 6:00 PM, Monday through Friday. Phlebotomists will work alongside another professional and must be open to floating to different locations as needed. Initial training lasts two weeks and includes a full-time schedule during week two. Training sites are located in Wildomar, Tustin, and Los Angeles, with accommodations available if necessary. The job involves floating between five locations, from Manhattan Beach to Newport Beach.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $23.11 - $23.11/hr.
