Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Phlebotomist with experience in blood draws, specimen labeling, specimen centrifuging, recording maintenance data, decontamination, and updating patient information.
Responsibilities
- Collect and store specimens according to established procedures.
- Clearly explain the venipuncture process and other specimen collection processes such as urine or fecal collections.
- Demonstrate techniques using straight needles and/or butterfly needles.
- Understand and execute all of the physicians' orders accurately.
- Match laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes.
- Label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required by test orders.
- Verify test requisitions or computer labels against scripts to ensure 100% accuracy.
- Package specimens for transport and store them at the required temperature.
- Accurately label samples and follow procedures specific to protocol for transport.
- Comply with OSHA and DEP regulations.
- Attend annual department trainings.
- Answer telephone calls and provide laboratory results to satisfy inquiries.
- 1 year of phlebotomist experience minimum
- Proficiency in blood drawing and phlebotomy techniques
- Basic processing techniques knowledge
- Experience with hard stick blood draws
- Familiarity with centrifuge operation
- Understanding of blood pressure measurements
- GED or High School Diploma
This role operates Monday through Friday from 9 AM to 1 PM, totaling 20 hours per week. The work is performed within smaller office settings or Patient Service Centers, providing exposure to diverse environments within a larger company.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of West Long Branch, NJ.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00/hr.
