Phlebotomist - West Long Branch

We are seeking a skilled Phlebotomist with experience in blood draws, specimen labeling, specimen centrifuging, recording maintenance data, decontamination, and updating patient information.

Responsibilities

• Collect and store specimens according to established procedures.
• Clearly explain the venipuncture process and other specimen collection processes such as urine or fecal collections.
• Demonstrate techniques using straight needles and/or butterfly needles.
• Understand and execute all of the physicians' orders accurately.
• Match laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes.
• Label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required by test orders.
• Verify test requisitions or computer labels against scripts to ensure 100% accuracy.
• Package specimens for transport and store them at the required temperature.
• Accurately label samples and follow procedures specific to protocol for transport.
• Comply with OSHA and DEP regulations.
• Attend annual department trainings.
• Answer telephone calls and provide laboratory results to satisfy inquiries.

• 1 year of phlebotomist experience minimum
• Proficiency in blood drawing and phlebotomy techniques
• Basic processing techniques knowledge
• Experience with hard stick blood draws
• Familiarity with centrifuge operation
• Understanding of blood pressure measurements

• GED or High School Diploma

This role operates Monday through Friday from 9 AM to 1 PM, totaling 20 hours per week. The work is performed within smaller office settings or Patient Service Centers, providing exposure to diverse environments within a larger company.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of West Long Branch, NJ.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00/hr.
