Job Title: Phlebotomist II (Part Time)

Job Description

The primary role of a Phlebotomist II is to efficiently perform blood draws and other specimen collections, troubleshoot issues, provide training, and recommend workflow improvements.

Responsibilities

• Perform blood draws using straight and butterfly needles and label specimens accurately.
• Centrifuge and store specimens according to established procedures and test orders.
• Explain the venipuncture process and other specimen collection procedures clearly and courteously to patients.
• Update patient information and record maintenance data accurately.
• Fully understand and execute physicians' orders for specimen collection.
• Match laboratory requisition forms with specimen tubes and check all test requisitions for accuracy.
• Package and store specimens at the required temperature for transport.

Essential Skills

• Phlebotomy experience with venipuncture and capillary blood collection for adult, pediatric, and geriatric patients.
• Proficiency in using needles, lancets, tourniquets, and blood collection tubes.
• Knowledge of the order of draw and specimen requirements.
• Accurate labeling, handling, and transporting of specimens.
• Customer service skills to interact effectively with patients.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Phlebotomy certification is preferred.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Bethany, OK.

The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $24.00/hr.

This is a fully onsite position in Bethany,OK.
