Job Description
We are seeking a Construction Project Manager to support an Anchorage-based team delivering vertical construction projects across Alaska. You will manage projects from planning through closeout, serve as a primary client contact, and collaborate closely with sr leadership and a team of project managers. Responsibilities
- Manage the full lifecycle of vertical construction projects, from initial planning and design coordination through construction, closeout, and handover.
- Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in alignment with client expectations and project requirements.
- Coordinate daily with internal teams, contractors, design professionals, vendors, and other stakeholders to keep projects progressing smoothly.
- Facilitate regular project meetings, prepare agendas, and document decisions, action items, and follow-ups.
- Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including contracts, schedules, budgets, meeting minutes, and reports.
- Review contractor progress, including RFIs, submittals, pay applications, and change orders, and provide timely responses and recommendations.
- Monitor project scope, schedule, and budget, proactively identifying risks and implementing mitigation strategies.
- Serve as the day-to-day client contact for assigned projects, providing clear updates and addressing questions and concerns promptly.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships by delivering responsive service and high-quality project outcomes.
- Support sr leaders in client communications, issue resolution, and strategic decision-making for complex initiatives.
- Work closely with a team of approximately 20 project managers in the Anchorage office to share knowledge and coordinate project delivery.
- Partner with sr project managers and the Area Leader on complex or high-visibility projects to ensure successful execution.
- Contribute to a collaborative, team-oriented environment by sharing best practices and supporting colleagues.
- Maintain and update project schedules and budgets, ensuring accuracy and transparency for internal and external stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with project requirements, contract terms, and applicable local regulations and codes.
- Support remote and rural project delivery across Alaska, including coordination of logistics and site visits as needed.
Essential Skills
- 4–8 years of project management experience in construction, with demonstrated responsibility for full project lifecycle.
- Strong experience supporting vertical construction projects such as commercial, institutional, or healthcare facilities, typically between $1–5M in scope.
- Project experience in Alaska, including familiarity with local conditions, regulations, and project delivery practices (required).
- Proven ability to manage project scope, schedule, and budget effectively and to drive projects to successful completion.
- Strong communication skills, including the ability to communicate clearly with clients, contractors, and internal teams.
- Strong coordination and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and stakeholders in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to thrive in a team-oriented environment and collaborate closely with other project managers and sr leaders.
- Hands-on approach to project management, with a focus on accountability, problem-solving, and proactive risk management.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience with Alaska Native projects is required.
- Experience in construction management, project management, program management, or owner’s representative services.
- Experience working on projects in underserved or remote areas is a plus.
- Interest in growing into leadership roles within a technically challenging and unique construction market.
- Comfort working with vertical construction project documentation, including RFIs, submittals, pay applications, and change orders.
Work Environment
This role primarily supports an Anchorage-based office, with onsite presence in Anchorage highly preferred to foster collaboration with a team of approximately 20 project managers. The environment emphasizes a fast-paced, team-oriented culture focused on delivering vertical construction projects across Alaska, including unique and underserved areas. Remote work flexibility is available, particularly for candidates based in Seattle who have 5 years of experience with Alaska projects; remote team members should expect to travel periodically to Alaska for project meetings, site visits, and team collaboration. The work involves regular use of standard office technology, project management tools, and digital communication platforms to coordinate with clients, design teams, contractors, and vendors. Hours generally align with standard business schedules, with flexibility as needed to meet project milestones and client needs.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $101000.00 - $120000.00/hr.
