Job Description

We are seeking a Construction Project Manager to support an Anchorage-based team delivering vertical construction projects across Alaska. You will manage projects from planning through closeout, serve as a primary client contact, and collaborate closely with sr leadership and a team of project managers. This role is ideal for a hands-on project manager who thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and is interested in growing into leadership within a unique and technically challenging construction market.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the full lifecycle of vertical construction projects, from initial planning and design coordination through construction, closeout, and handover.
  • Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in alignment with client expectations and project requirements.
  • Coordinate daily with internal teams, contractors, design professionals, vendors, and other stakeholders to keep projects progressing smoothly.
  • Facilitate regular project meetings, prepare agendas, and document decisions, action items, and follow-ups.
  • Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including contracts, schedules, budgets, meeting minutes, and reports.
  • Review contractor progress, including RFIs, submittals, pay applications, and change orders, and provide timely responses and recommendations.
  • Monitor project scope, schedule, and budget, proactively identifying risks and implementing mitigation strategies.
  • Serve as the day-to-day client contact for assigned projects, providing clear updates and addressing questions and concerns promptly.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships by delivering responsive service and high-quality project outcomes.
  • Support sr leaders in client communications, issue resolution, and strategic decision-making for complex initiatives.
  • Work closely with a team of approximately 20 project managers in the Anchorage office to share knowledge and coordinate project delivery.
  • Partner with sr project managers and the Area Leader on complex or high-visibility projects to ensure successful execution.
  • Contribute to a collaborative, team-oriented environment by sharing best practices and supporting colleagues.
  • Maintain and update project schedules and budgets, ensuring accuracy and transparency for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with project requirements, contract terms, and applicable local regulations and codes.
  • Support remote and rural project delivery across Alaska, including coordination of logistics and site visits as needed.

Essential Skills

  • 4–8 years of project management experience in construction, with demonstrated responsibility for full project lifecycle.
  • Strong experience supporting vertical construction projects such as commercial, institutional, or healthcare facilities, typically between $1–5M in scope.
  • Project experience in Alaska, including familiarity with local conditions, regulations, and project delivery practices (required).
  • Proven ability to manage project scope, schedule, and budget effectively and to drive projects to successful completion.
  • Strong communication skills, including the ability to communicate clearly with clients, contractors, and internal teams.
  • Strong coordination and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and stakeholders in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to thrive in a team-oriented environment and collaborate closely with other project managers and sr leaders.
  • Hands-on approach to project management, with a focus on accountability, problem-solving, and proactive risk management.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience with Alaska Native projects is required.
  • Experience in construction management, project management, program management, or owner’s representative services.
  • Experience working on projects in underserved or remote areas is a plus.
  • Interest in growing into leadership roles within a technically challenging and unique construction market.
  • Comfort working with vertical construction project documentation, including RFIs, submittals, pay applications, and change orders.

Work Environment

This role primarily supports an Anchorage-based office, with onsite presence in Anchorage highly preferred to foster collaboration with a team of approximately 20 project managers. The environment emphasizes a fast-paced, team-oriented culture focused on delivering vertical construction projects across Alaska, including unique and underserved areas.
