Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Phlebotomist who will be responsible for performing blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data, and decontamination. The role involves updating patient information and collecting and storing specimens according to established procedures. The successful candidate will be able to explain the process of venipuncture and other specimen collections clearly and courteously.

Responsibilities

• Perform blood draws using straight and butterfly needles.
• Fully understand and interpret physicians' orders.
• Match laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes.
• Label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required by test orders.
• Ensure accuracy by checking all test requisitions or computer labels against scripts.
• Package specimens for transport and store them according to required temperatures.
• Comply with OSHA and DEP regulations and attend annual department trainings.
• Answer telephone calls and read laboratory results to satisfy inquiries.

Essential Skills

• 3 years of recent phlebotomy experience in a clinical setting - outpatient, primary care
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Proficiency in customer service and specimen processing.
• Experience drawing blood on pediatric through geriatric patients
• Experience with 30 patient draws per day.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Fluency in Korean, Mandarin, or Vietnamese is a plus.

Work Environment

The position is based at a prominent healthcare client with six locations, and requires fluency in Korean, Mandarin, or Vietnamese as a plus. The work schedule is Monday to Friday, from 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM, with rotating weekends and involves coordination with three providers. The role offers a dynamic work environment with opportunities for longevity.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Suwanee, GA.

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $22.00/hr.

This is a fully onsite position in Suwanee,GA.
