Phlebotomist- Bronx

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Phlebotomist to join our team in the Bronx. The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of recent phlebotomy experience and be proficient with straight needles. Strong communication skills, reliability, punctuality, and bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish are essential for this role.

• Perform blood draws, label specimens, and centrifuge specimens.
• Record maintenance data and perform decontamination procedures.
• Update patient information as needed.
• Collect and store specimens following established procedures.
• Explain the venipuncture process and other specimen collection procedures clearly and courteously.
• Demonstrate techniques using straight and butterfly needles.
• Match laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes accurately.
• Label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required by test orders.
• Verify test requisitions or computer labels against scripts for accuracy.
• Package specimens for transport and store sample specimens at required temperatures.
• Ensure proper labeling and protocol adherence for specimen integrity during transport.

• Minimum of 2 years of work experience performing venipunctures in a fast-paced lab or hospital setting.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Expertise in specimen collection, laboratory techniques, and phlebotomy.
• Strong customer service skills.
• Proficiency with straight needles, blood draw, and venipuncture.

• Bilingual in English and Spanish.

The work schedule is Monday through Thursday from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm, Friday from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, and every other Saturday from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm at the Burnside location. The role requires working in a fast-paced lab environment.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Bronx, NY.

The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $23.00/hr.
