Job Title: Pharmacy Clerk
Job Description

The Pharmacy Clerk supports the efficient operation of a closed-door pharmacy by handling inventory, shipping and receiving, order preparation, and documentation. This role ensures medications and supplies are accurately received, stored, picked, packed, and prepared for timely delivery to hospitals, clinics, and retail pharmacies while maintaining a clean, organized, and compliant warehouse environment.

Responsibilities

  • Assist pharmacy personnel by replenishing packaging stations to ensure continuous and efficient workflow.
  • Help load and unload supplies, medications, and related materials from delivery vehicles.
  • Receive, inspect, and verify incoming pharmaceutical shipments against packing lists or invoices.
  • Unload, unpack, and store medications and supplies in designated warehouse locations according to established procedures.
  • Pick, pack, and prepare medication orders for delivery to hospitals, clinics, and retail pharmacies.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records, including lot numbers, expiration dates, and quantities in the inventory system.
  • Monitor stock levels and assist with restocking and inventory cycle counts to support inventory accuracy.
  • Perform order entry tasks to ensure medication orders are recorded and processed correctly.
  • Label, package, and stage orders to meet delivery timelines and shipping schedules.
  • Coordinate with couriers, drivers, and shipping carriers to ensure timely distribution of medications and supplies.
  • Maintain filing systems for packing slips, shipment records, and inventory documentation in an organized manner.
  • Perform product disposal and ensure proper handling of expired or damaged medications in accordance with procedures.
  • Support inventory control and inventory management activities to minimize discrepancies and stock issues.
  • Contribute to shipping and receiving operations by preparing outgoing shipments and processing incoming deliveries.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and compliant warehouse and pharmacy work area at all times.
  • Demonstrate reliable attendance and punctuality to support consistent pharmacy operations.
Essential Skills
  • Experience with inventory, inventory control, and inventory management in a warehouse or pharmacy setting.
  • Ability to perform accurate order entry and data entry for medication and supply orders.
  • Familiarity with pharmacy operations and handling of medications and supplies.
  • Experience with cycle counts and maintaining accurate inventory records.
  • Ability to use inventory and warehouse systems, including SAP or similar software.
  • Skills in labeling, picking, packing, and preparing orders for shipment.
  • Experience with shipping and receiving processes in a warehouse or distribution environment.
  • Strong attention to detail when verifying shipments, recording lot numbers, and tracking expiration dates.
  • Reliable attendance and the ability to work scheduled hours consistently.
  • Ability to work in a structured, process-driven environment while maintaining accuracy and compliance.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Previous experience working in a pharmacy, closed-door pharmacy, or medical distribution environment is an asset.
  • Comfort working with warehouse inventory systems and documentation processes.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks such as receiving, stocking, and order preparation.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with pharmacy personnel, couriers, and drivers.
  • Commitment to following procedures for safe handling and disposal of medications.

Work Environment

This role is based in a closed-door pharmacy environment with a warehouse component. You work on-site, Monday to Friday, from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. The setting includes packaging stations, storage areas, and shipping and receiving zones where medications and supplies are handled and prepared for distribution. Work involves standing, moving between storage locations, loading and unloading supplies, and using inventory systems such as SAP, as well as labeling and data entry tools. The environment is organized, process-driven, and focused on regulatory compliance, cleanliness, and accuracy. Upon conversion to a permanent role, you become eligible for benefits, receive two weeks of vacation, and may qualify for a performance bonus.

This is a Contract position based out of Memphis, TN.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.00/hr.
