Pharmacist

Job Description

As a Pharmacist within a hospital system pharmacy managed by Cardinal Health, you will play a critical role in ensuring safe, compliant, and efficient medication management. You will verify and adjust physician orders using the pharmacy information system, dispense medications according to established protocols, and provide patient education. This role also includes supervising Pharmacy Technicians and overseeing compliance with accreditation standards, narcotics control, and inventory management.

Key Responsibilities

• Review and verify physician orders using pharmacy systems
• Adjust medication orders per protocol and clinical guidelines
• Dispense medications accurately and safely
• Educate patients on medication usage and potential side effects
• Supervise Pharmacy Technicians and support staff
• Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and accreditation requirements
• Manage inventory and controlled substances

Required Skills

• Pharmacy operations and pharmaceutical knowledge
• Healthcare systems and EMR proficiency
• Pharmacy management and compliance oversight

Preferred Qualifications

• Active and unrestricted Pharmacist license in California
• Prior experience in an inpatient hospital pharmacy setting
• IV preparation experience is a plus
• Flexibility to work various shifts and be on-call as needed
• Strong communication and customer service skills
• Manual dexterity for handling small objects and medication preparation
• Proficiency with pharmacy information systems and technology
• Credentialing requirements may include vaccinations; details will be provided during the interview process

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $65.00 - $75.00/hr.
