Job Description
This role focuses on accurate prescription and product verification in a high-volume specialty pharmacy environment. The Verification Pharmacist ensures medications are safely and correctly dispensed, supports an efficient workflow, and maintains strict adherence to pharmacy regulations and internal policies. This position is ideal for an experienced pharmacist who thrives in a task-oriented setting and enjoys collaborating with a dedicated pharmacy team.
Responsibilities
- Verify prescriptions and products accurately in a high-volume fill environment handling approximately 300–1,000 prescriptions per day.
- Perform the final verification of medications prior to dispensing to ensure accuracy, safety, and compliance.
- Collaborate closely with pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, and shipping staff to maintain an efficient and organized workflow.
- Maintain compliance with all applicable pharmacy regulations, professional standards, and internal company policies.
- Support daily pharmacy operations by focusing on verification processes for extended periods within a task-oriented workflow.
- Identify and resolve discrepancies or issues related to prescriptions or products before dispensing.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of verification processes and workflow efficiency within the fill area.
Essential Skills
- Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree required.
- Active Pharmacist license, including active license for NC where applicable.
- Minimum of 2 years of Pharmacist experience.
- Experience working in retail pharmacy settings.
- Demonstrated ability to accurately verify prescriptions and products in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to medication safety.
- Ability to work effectively within a task-oriented workflow for extended periods.
- Strong collaboration skills to work closely with pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, and shipping staff.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience in high-volume pharmacy environments is preferred.
- Strong experience in prescription and product verification.
- Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new workflows and systems.
- Comfort working in a specialty pharmacy setting.
- Proven ability to manage workload and maintain accuracy under time pressure.
Work Environment
The Verification Pharmacist works primarily in the fill area of a large specialty pharmacy, focusing on prescription and product verification. The role involves collaborating daily with a team that includes two additional pharmacists, seven pharmacy technicians, and seven shipping staff, fostering a supportive and coordinated environment. The standard schedule is Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM, with every other Saturday required. There is flexibility to adjust hours during the week or receive overtime for Saturday shifts, depending on business needs. The work setting is structured, task-oriented, and high volume, requiring sustained concentration and attention to detail throughout the day.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $60.00 - $60.00/hr.
