Mobile Phlebotomist

We are seeking a dedicated Mobile Phlebotomist with over three years of recent experience in phlebotomy. The ideal candidate will be proficient with both butterfly and straight needles and have a strong ability to communicate effectively, particularly with the geriatric population. A reliable and punctual individual is essential for this role.

Responsibilities

• Perform blood draws, label specimens, centrifuge samples, record maintenance data, and decontaminate equipment.
• Update patient information and collect and store specimens according to established procedures.
• Clearly and courteously explain the venipuncture process or other specimen collection methods as required.
• Demonstrate technique using straight or butterfly needles.
• Match laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes and ensure all test requisitions or computer labels are correct.
• Label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required by test orders.
• Package specimens for transport and store them at the required temperature, following specific protocols to maintain specimen integrity.

• Minimum of 3 years' experience performing venipunctures in a fast-paced lab or hospital setting.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Reliable transportation to float across locations in the Bronx.

• Experience in specimen collection.
• Ability to pass a one-round phone interview and a second-round onsite mock blood draw with a phlebotomy professional.

The role involves floating to various locations across Brooklyn and Queens, with responsibilities to see up to 15 patients daily. The schedule is Monday through Friday, from 8 am to 4 pm, with no weekend work. All tolls, parking, and mileage between stops are reimbursed.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Elmhurst, NY.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $25.00/hr.
