The Meteorologist plays a crucial role in providing operational meteorological support for global operations. This position is responsible for delivering accurate and timely weather forecasts and analyses that enable the organization to effectively manage weather-related impacts on personnel, operations, and assets. The ideal candidate possesses expertise in operational meteorology and weather forecasting, which will be instrumental in supporting day-to-day operations through weather monitoring, forecasting, analysis, and communication of meteorological information to stakeholders. The ability to synthesize and communicate complex meteorological information clearly and concisely is essential.
Responsibilities- Monitor and analyze weather conditions using advanced meteorological data systems, satellite imagery, radar, and numerical weather prediction models.
- Prepare and deliver accurate short-term and medium-range weather forecasts for assigned geographical regions.
- Conduct meteorological analysis and verification of forecast accuracy to continuously improve forecast quality.
- Provide weather briefings to operational teams and senior leadership, communicating potential impacts in clear, actionable terms.
- Utilize Geographic Information Systems (GIS) to visualize and communicate weather information and potential operational impacts.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to assess weather-related risks and support operational decision-making.
- Maintain accurate meteorological records and documentation.
- Support special projects and tasks related to weather operations as assigned.
- Work flexible shifts as needed to provide continuous meteorological support.
- Expertise in operational meteorology and weather forecasting.
- Experience in using Geographic Information Systems (GIS).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience providing weather briefings to leadership or operational teams.
- Proficiency with meteorological software and data visualization tools.
- Experience with forecast verification and quality control processes.
- Ability to work flexible schedules, including nights, weekends, and during severe weather events.
- Public speaking skills.
- Bachelor's degree in Meteorology, Atmospheric Science, or related field.
- 3 years of professional experience in meteorological forecasting.
This position requires onsite work with limited travel, less than 25%. The role demands flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic operational environment, embracing evolving meteorological technologies and handling high-impact weather events with ease.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $40.00 - $44.00/hr.
