Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Medical Lab Scientist to join our team. This role involves performing routine and complex technical procedures, ensuring specimens are acceptable for testing, and delivering accurate test results. The position requires a keen attention to detail, strong communication skills, and proficiency in laboratory operations to contribute to quality patient care.

Responsibilities

• Determine the acceptability of specimens for testing according to established criteria.
• Perform routine and complex technical procedures and functions according to departmental Standard Operating Procedures.
• Monitor, operate, and troubleshoot instrumentation to ensure proper functionality.
• Demonstrate the ability to make technical decisions regarding testing and problem solving.
• Prepare, test, and evaluate new reagents or controls.
• Report accurate and timely test results to deliver quality patient care.
• Perform and document preventive maintenance and quality control procedures.
• Identify and replenish testing bench supplies as necessary.
• Assist with processing specimens when needed.
• Maintain a safe work environment and wear appropriate personal protective equipment.

Candidates must meet at least one of the following requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Clinical Laboratory Science or Medical Technology
• Bachelor's degree in Biology, Chemistry, or equivalent in addition to an active ASCP or AMT certification
• Associate's degree in Medical Laboratory Technology

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• ASCP or AMT certification preferred
• Familiarity with laboratory information systems
• Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
• High level of attention to detail along with strong communication and organizational skills.
• Blood Bank experience

Work Environment

This is a 4x10 schedule with the potential to accommodate a 3x12 schedule based off availability. The work environment is dynamic and may require flexibility to work overtime or other shifts based on business needs. The role involves maintaining a safe workspace with personal protective equipment to ensure safety. The laboratory setting is equipped with advanced instrumentation to support efficient operations.

This is a Contract position based out of Round Rock, TX.

The pay range for this position is $33.20 - $33.20/hr.

This is a fully onsite position in Round Rock,TX.
