Your primary responsibilities will include answering phones, scheduling appointments, handling prior authorizations, and rooming patients. Responsibilities

• Answer phones and manage scheduling of appointments.
• Handle prior authorizations efficiently.
• Room patients and manage patient flow.
• Process medication refills and address same-day requests.
• Assist with clerical tasks including data entry and managing patient information.
• Provide excellent customer service and maintain professional communication.
• Use Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems, particularly EPIC, to manage patient data.

Essential Skills

• Strong customer service skills.
• Proficient in data entry and managing patient information.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Familiarity with medications and basic clerical tasks.
• Experience with EMR systems, particularly EPIC, is preferred.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) certification is helpful.
• Medical Assistant (MA) Diploma is required.
• Experience in a similar role is advantageous.

Work Environment

This position is based in a small, family-oriented practice located in New Haven county. The work schedule is Monday through Friday, between 7:45 AM and 6:00 PM. The clinic atmosphere is easy-going and collaborative, though staff are currently feeling overwhelmed due to being short-staffed. It provides a nurturing environment with a mix of clinical and administrative experiences, offering an excellent opportunity for growth and development.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Guilford, CT.

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $23.00/hr.
