Job Description

We are seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join a leading manufacturer of high-performance thermoplastic corrugated pipe. This role involves working within a dynamic team to create innovative water management products and drainage solutions for various applications, including residential, non-residential, agriculture, and infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Work within a high-performing team to create new production machinery designs.
• Assist in creating and executing design activities using lean new product introduction procedures.
• Resolve production issues through machine design.
• Perform stress analysis, flow analysis, analyze designs, and validate calculations.
• Analyze design concepts and select the best options using a structured methodology.
• Validate designs and design improvements for high-speed manufacturing.
• Support manufacturing teams by providing design support and troubleshooting assistance.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop new products and associated production equipment.
• Ensure the correct level of design is available for tooling projects and align solutions with project needs.

Essential Skills

• 2-5 years of mechanical engineering/design experience.
• Proficiency in Autodesk Inventor, AutoCAD, and SolidWorks.
• Mechanical design experience, including tooling and tool design.
• Demonstrated mechanical aptitude.
• Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
• Experience working as a member of a high-performing team.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• BS in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• 2 years of experience using 3D CAD for machine design.
• Project Management experience with exposure to PMI principles.
• Experience in a manufacturing environment, such as design for manufacturing or operations support.

Work Environment

The position is based at a new R&D facility in Hilliard, OH. This is an on-site role with standard working hours from 8 am to 5 pm

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Hilliard, OH.

The pay range for this position is $36.06 - $40.86/hr.
