As a Mechanical Engineer, you will develop mechanical designs for container-based and platform-based supply chain systems. Additionally, you will create manufacturing-ready drawings, tolerances, and documentation, ensuring designs move seamlessly into production. This role involves close collaboration with suppliers, fabricators, internal teams, and the Program Management Team to align requirements, schedules, and deliverables.
Responsibilities- Develop mechanical designs for container-based and platform-based supply chain systems.
- Build and refine 2D/3D models using PTC Creo, SolidWorks, and Windchill.
- Create manufacturing-ready drawings, tolerances, and documentation.
- Collaborate with suppliers, fabricators, and internal teams to move designs into production.
- Work closely with the Program Management Team to align requirements, schedules, and deliverables.
- Support inspection, testing, and production quality checks.
- Troubleshoot technical issues during fabrication and assembly.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- 2–5 years of mechanical or structural engineering experience.
- Proficiency in Creo, Inventor, SolidWorks, and Windchill.
- Strong understanding of fabrication, weldments, tolerances, and manufacturability.
- Practical, detail-oriented mindset.
- Ability to work full-time on-site in McLean, VA.
- Project management experience.
- Supply chain or manufacturing experience.
- Exposure to defense, aerospace, or energy programs.
The role is primarily on-site in McLean, VA, in a small office setting working on computer design tasks. After 90 days, there is an option to work remotely one day per week. This position offers an opportunity to be part of a rapidly growing team that supports the DoD community by designing containers to securely ship products globally.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Mc Lean, VA.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $53.00 - $62.50/hr.
