Job Title: Mechanical Engineer II
Job Description
We are seeking a full-time Mechanical Engineer II to join our dynamic team. As a full-service architectural and engineering firm, we provide comprehensive design services to markets including education, healthcare, commercial, data centers, research and development, sports, recreation and athletics, and industrial sectors. Responsibilities
- Act as project mechanical engineer for the design, development, and documentation of HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, and temperature controls systems on small to medium-sized projects.
- Assist lead project mechanical engineer with similar responsibilities on large and complex projects.
- Perform energy and economic analysis for proposed building systems.
- Research and document any required code review for assigned projects.
- Conduct product research as needed for project development.
- Attend project team coordination meetings and owner review meetings.
- Develop materials for client presentations and review meetings.
- Present mechanical system concepts/designs to clients and/or design review committees.
- Develop and edit project specifications.
- Review product shop drawings/submittals.
- Review and respond to requests for information (RFIs).
- Visit project construction sites to review progress and answer contractor inquiries.
- Maintain relationships with new and existing clients.
- Participate in ongoing continuous improvement efforts and identify opportunities to improve quality, efficiency, and service, and follow up with improvement implementation.
Essential Skills
- Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, and design software.
- Strong understanding of mechanical engineering, project management, and architecture.
- Experience with HVAC systems and building codes.
- Familiarity with CAD and BIM technologies.
- Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- 4-7 years of relevant experience.
- Significant knowledge of structural design for residential and commercial construction.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- LEED accreditation is a plus.
- BIM experience is advantageous.
- Licensed Professional Engineer preferred.

Job Type & Location
This is a Permanent position based out of Troy, MI.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $40.00/hr.
