We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Design Engineer to join our dynamic team. You will be responsible for creating and developing mechanical parts and assemblies using 3D CAD software, with a preference for SolidWorks. Your designs will consider function, strength, manufacturability, and assembly. You will carry designs through the full product lifecycle, including concept development, prototyping, and production readiness. This role requires hands-on experience taking a product from initial concept through to production.
Responsibilities- Create and develop mechanical parts and assemblies using 3D CAD software (SolidWorks preferred).
- Carry designs through the full product lifecycle, including concept development, prototyping, and production readiness.
- Perform tolerance analysis and basic structural evaluations as needed.
- Produce detailed drawings and documentation for supplier fabrication and internal use.
- Build and maintain bills of materials and part documentation.
- Provide hands-on support during prototype builds and early production runs.
- Collaborate with engineering, validation, purchasing, quality, and production teams to resolve technical issues.
- Apply data-driven thinking to troubleshoot design and product issues.
- Participate in technical standards and compliance-related efforts, including ISO-aligned activities.
- Communicate design intent and technical concepts clearly to internal teams and external customers.
- Mechanical engineering and design expertise.
- Hands-on experience taking a product from initial concept through production.
- Experience with sheet metal fabrication and/or stamping.
- Experience with mechanical and motion-based design.
- Experience with machining and turning.
- Experience with injection molding and/or die casting.
- Experience with surface finishing processes for metal and plastic components.
- Familiarity with finite element analysis.
- Experience in a fast-growing company in a niche, growing marketplace.
- Relevant technical experience in manufacturing processes.
- Ability to support multiple smaller projects running concurrently.
- Experience with component manufacturing handled by external suppliers and final assembly completed onsite.
- Regular interaction with customers and suppliers.
This is a hybrid position with three days in the office: Tuesdays, Thursdays, and a choice day. The role supports numerous smaller projects running concurrently, with component manufacturing handled by external suppliers and final assembly completed onsite. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $80000.00 - $95000.00/yr.
