Job Title: Mechanical Designer/Drafter
Job Description
This position involves creating complete 2D drawings based on OEM provided data, developing simple to moderately complex 3D models using SolidWorks, managing engineering data including drawings and specifications, and submitting PMA packages to the FAA. The role also includes creating 2D operation sheets based on data from Manufacturing Engineers and performing other engineering tasks as required.
Responsibilities
- Create complete 2D drawings based on OEM provided data.
- Develop simple to moderately complex 3D models using SolidWorks.
- Manage engineering data, including drawings and specifications.
- Submit PMA packages to the FAA.
- Create 2D operation sheets based on data provided by Manufacturing Engineers.
- Collaborate with engineering and manufacturing teams for process improvement and engineering tasks.
Essential Skills
- 5 years of work experience in mechanical design.
- 5 years of experience in SolidWorks.
- Proficiency in solid modeling in 2D and 3D.
- Experience in creating bill of materials and CAD packages.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- AS9100 experience is a plus.
Work Environment
The role is based in a clean shop environment with painted floors, providing a good work-life balance. The candidate will work behind a desk for design work and putting together CAD packages, as well as visiting the manufacturing floor to collaborate with manufacturing engineers. The work schedule is 7-4:30 pm from Monday to Thursday, and 7-11 am on Fridays. The team includes 2 Mechanical Engineers, and the position reports to the Director of Engineering. This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Sun Valley, California.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $28.85 - $33.65/hr.
