Job Title: Manufacturing Engineer

The manufacturing engineer will be responsible for developing, optimizing, and support assembly processes. This role ensures efficient, safe, and cost-effective assembly operations while maintaining high-quality standards and compliance with engineering specifications.

Process development and optimization

• Design, implement, and improve assembly processes
• Develop standard work instructions and ensure adherence to safety and quality standards

Continuous Improvement

• Identify opportunities for process improvements using Lean Manufacturing and Kaizen principles
• Reduce cycle time, improve ergonomics, and minimize waste in assembly operations

Technical support

• Provide engineering support to production teams for troubleshooting assembly issues
• Collaborate with design engineering to resolve manufacturability concerns

Tooling & Equipment

• Specify and procure assembly tooling, fixtures, and equipment
• Ensure proper maintenance and calibration of assembly tools

Quality & Compliance

• Monitor assembly quality metrics and implement corrective actions as needed
• Ensure compliance with ISO standards and quality

Documentation & Reporting

• Maintain accurate process documentation, including PFMEA, controls plans and work instructions
• Prepare reports on process performance and improvement initiatives

Qualifications:

• Education- Bachelors degree in engineering
• 2 years in a manufacturing engineering role, preferably assembly operations
• strong knowledge of assembly processes and Lean Manufacturing principles
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
• Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration abilities

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Normal, IL.

The pay range for this position is $31.00 - $55.25/hr.
