Job Title: Product Design Engineer

Job Description

As a Product Design Engineer, you will assist in planning, developing, and coordinating engineering projects, focusing on personnel needs and schedules. You will be a product line specialist, acting as an engineering expert on assigned projects, and serve as a technical consultant to present solutions and demonstrate site performance. You will perform as a staff advisor and consultant for technical specialties, equipment, or program functions. You will be accountable for achieving all assigned project tasks and objectives within the established strategy, ensuring functionality while meeting specifications. You will ensure that project tasks assigned to others are completed within the established budget, schedule, and priority, and you will conduct engineering design reviews to ensure fit, function, and accuracy. You will recommend changes in methods and procedures to improve project completion or enhance engineering processes, keep leaders informed on project status with updates and alternate plans, and follow up with other departments to ensure critical tasks are completed within timelines.

Responsibilities

• Perform as a staff advisor and consultant for technical specialties, equipment, or program functions.
• Achieve all assigned project tasks and objectives within the established strategy, ensuring functionality and meeting specifications.
• Ensure project tasks assigned to others are completed within budget, schedule, and priority.
• Conduct engineering design reviews to ensure fit, function, and accuracy.
• Recommend changes in methods and procedures to improve project completion or engineering processes.
• Keep leaders informed on project status with timely updates and alternate plan suggestions.
• Follow up with other departments on project tasks to ensure critical items are completed within timelines.

Essential Skills

• Proficiency in SolidWorks.
• 5 years of machine design experience.
• Experience with sheet metal design.
• Manufacturing of parts background.
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Associate's degree with relevant experience.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• 1 year of SolidWorks experience.
• Experience in mechanical design and engineering.
• Background in new product development and R&D engineering.
• Familiarity with tooling and manufacturing environments.

Work Environment

This position involves 100% desk-based design work for new machines within an R&D setting, located on-site in Covington, KY. It offers flexible work hours within standard business hours.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Ft Mitchell, Kentucky.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $85000.00 - $120000.00/hr.
