Lab Technician

Position Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Lab Technician to join our Quality Control Seed Health Testing Team. This role involves working in a fast-paced laboratory environment, supporting critical testing processes that ensure seed health and quality. You’ll collaborate with a dynamic team and contribute to projects that make a real impact in agricultural science.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine laboratory assays including Bacteriology, PCR, ELISA, Mycology, and/or Greenhouse testing following established SOPs.
• Prepare samples for testing and maintain accurate records in Word, Excel, and LIMS database systems.
• Manage lab inventory, maintain equipment, and prepare buffers, media, and reagents.
• Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and maintain a clean, organized work environment (including dishwashing and general housekeeping).
• Support sample management processes and assist with independent projects as assigned.
• Collaborate with team members to meet deadlines and business needs, including occasional overtime or weekend work.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in a science-related field (Biology, Molecular Biology, etc.) with at least 1 year of relevant industry experience.
  • Technical Skills: Demonstrated sterile techniques.
  • Hands-on experience with molecular techniques (PCR, ELISA, etc.).
  • Soft Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Effective time management and ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Skills

• Familiarity with Bacteriology, Mycology, and Greenhouse assays.
• Experience with LIMS systems and data entry.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Woodland, CA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $25.00/hr.
