Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated R&D Lab Coordinator to manage the daily operations of our Research & Development lab. This full-time, on-site position requires a proactive individual who can maintain the organization and cleanliness of the lab, while supporting various R&D projects. The ideal candidate should exhibit critical thinking, resourcefulness, problem-solving skills, and creativity, and must be capable of making decisions and executing tasks with autonomy.
Responsibilities
- Ensure R&D labs are clean, well-organized, and stocked with necessary supplies. Maintain cleanliness of dishes, utensils, equipment, and the lab in general. Manage and place weekly orders for food and supplies, maintaining par inventory levels.
- Receive, track, and notify staff of package arrivals and prepare outbound shipments.
- Assist creative leads and Product Development staff with coordinating and shipping products for photo shoots, focus group testing, and other cross-functional events.
- Maintain awareness of local food codes and ensure compliance within the R&D Test Kitchen labs. Monitor and enforce compliance to prepare for inspections, communicating results to guide improvement.
- Support equipment setup, tear down, and maintenance, including calibration and repair. Coordinate equipment installations and repairs with operations.
- Assist with product preparation for development work, product demos, sensory testing, and other food showings.
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Entry-level computer skills with preferred experience in Microsoft Word, Excel, Smartsheet, and Outlook.
- Self-starter with high accountability for maintaining and improving the R&D lab.
- Ability to stand on concrete floors for up to 8 hours per day.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to bend, kneel, and extend arms overhead repeatedly.
- Restaurant experience preferred.
- Knowledge of restaurant equipment is helpful.
This is an 8-week contract opportunity covering a leave of absence, with potential for extension based on business needs. The position is 100% on-site at the corporate headquarters, working Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. The role involves standing and walking for extended periods on concrete floors, and handling food products. PPE such as closed-toe shoes, long pants, and occasionally lab coats or hair nets are required. The position involves medium-duty physical demands, including frequent lifting and carrying, and working in and out of refrigerators and freezers.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $22.00 - $25.00/hr.
