Industrial Engineer
Location: Louisville, KY
Shift: Primarily Day Shift (7 AM–4 PM)
Overview
We are seeking an Industrial Engineer to support high-volume automotive manufacturing operations. This role plays a key part in driving manpower efficiency, process optimization, ergonomic improvements, and launch readiness for new vehicle programs. The ideal candidate has strong analytical skills, excellent communication abilities, and a passion for improving production performance in a fast-paced OEM environment.
You will join a high‑energy Industrial Engineering team composed of early-career and experienced engineers who collaborate closely to support daily operations and major launch activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement manpower processes to ensure production meets takt time requirements.
- Develop and install direct and indirect labor standards and methods.
- Track labor utilization, monitor manpower efficiency, and support line balancing activities.
- Conduct ergonomic evaluations and support improvements to reduce risk.
- Analyze process constraints and perform equipment cycle time analysis.
- Recommend optimal manpower distribution and review daily workforce utilization.
- Analyze plant methods, standards, and proposed changes to processes, layouts, material handling systems, and routing.
- Develop cycle line layouts for current and future models using AutoCAD.
- Build cost-saving project proposals and produce supporting documentation.
- Effectively communicate findings and updates using Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
Required Qualifications
Must Have:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Engineering or related engineering discipline
- 1 year of Industrial Engineering experience (co-op or internship experience accepted)
- 1 year of experience with Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Preferred Qualifications
Nice to Have:
- Co-op or professional experience in an automotive manufacturing environment
- Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma experience

- MODAPTS Certification
- GSPAS knowledge
- Demonstrated leadership, teamwork, and collaborative problem‑solving skills

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $38.00 - $38.00/hr.
