Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Hydrology & Hydraulics Engineer who is passionate about stormwater management and drainage design for transportation projects across the U.S. This role provides the opportunity to gain hands-on experience with hydraulic and hydrologic modeling, floodplain mapping, and stormwater permitting.
Responsibilities
- Design storm drainage systems and stormwater management plans.
- Analyze Best Management Practices (BMPs) and conduct stream restoration.
- Conduct floodplain studies and hydrologic/hydraulic modeling using tools such as HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, and TR-55.
- Prepare detailed stormwater plans for complex sites.
- Understand construction processes related to permitting and surveying.
- Proficiency in TR-55 and HEC-RAS.
- Experience in drainage and stormwater permitting.
- Familiarity with ArcGIS and Civil 3D.
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
- EIT or PE preferred.
- At least 2 years of experience in hydrology/hydraulics design.
- Familiarity with modeling river systems, floodplain delineation, culvert/bridge hydraulics, and erosion control.
- Knowledge of FEMA requirements.
- Experience with AutoCAD, MicroStation, or ArcGIS.
The position is based in an office environment, working collaboratively with a team of engineers and field personnel.
Job Type & Location
This is a Permanent position based out of Pittsburgh, PA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $70000.00 - $105000.00/yr.
