Job Title: HR Assistant
Serves as a primary point of contact for employees and managers, responding to inquiries related to benefits, policies, HR programs, and personnel records. This role delivers high‑quality customer service by primarily via phone and email, while supporting HR transactions and self‑service processes within a large healthcare environment.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the first point of contact for employee, manager, and HR inquiries, ensuring timely and accurate resolution
- Provide guidance on HR policies, programs, and self‑service tools
- Process HR transactions related to the employee lifecycle, data changes, and personnel records
- Maintain accurate employee records and documentation
- Support continuous process improvement initiatives by analyzing data, gathering feedback, and collaborating with cross‑functional teams
- Deliver empathetic, professional customer service in all interactions
- Assist with additional duties as needed
Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of HR experience OR 2 years of progressive customer service experience in a complex corporate environment
- Associate’s degree required (additional relevant experience may substitute)
- Strong customer service, communication, and problem‑solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks accurately in a fast‑paced environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree
- Experience with HRIS/HRMS systems
- PeopleSoft experience strongly preferred
- Familiarity with Workday a plus
- Bilingual communication skills (verbal and written) a plus
Physical Requirements
- Ability to sit for extended periods
- Regular use of computers and office equipment
- Occasional lifting up to 10 pounds
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Boston, MA.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $18.00 - $22.00/hr.
