Position Summary

Join a leading manufacturer of sweeteners and starches as a Analytical Quality Laboratory Technician, where you'll gain hands-on experience in analytical chemistry and microbiology. This entry-level role is ideal for recent graduates or early-career professionals eager to grow in a fast paced lab environment supporting human and animal feed production.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze final product and in-process samples using advanced instrumentation: HPLC, GC, AA, FT-IR, NIR, Karl Fischer, and more
• Perform wet chemistry techniques, extractions, and “wetmills” on liquid products
• Conduct microbiological testing, pH analysis, refractive index, particle size distribution, and spectrophotometric methods
• Post results into data systems and communicate findings to plant personnel
• Identify abnormal results and collaborate with process teams to resolve issues
• Perform QA/QC checks on outbound shipments and document results
• Maintain lab equipment and follow established methodologies
• Support cross-functional teams with analytical and project-based tasks
• Adhere to company policies, safety protocols, and core values
• Participate in skill block training to advance lab technician levels and compensation

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biology, or related scientific discipline
• Familiarity with lab instrumentation and methodologies (experience may come from coursework or internships)
• Willingness to work a 24/7 rotating shift schedule (including nights, weekends, and holidays)
• Strong attention to detail, troubleshooting ability, and self-motivation
• Excellent communication skills and ability to multitask
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office; SAP experience is a plus

Preferred Skills

• Experience with titrations, wet chemistry, viscosity testing, microbiology
• Understanding of GMP standards and quality control procedures

• Level I technicians earn up to $27/hour
• Top-tier lab techs can earn up to $100K annually based on skill competencies

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $23.00/hr.
