Job Details:

This exciting opportunity is for a Medical Lab Scientist to join their team as a long-term addition to their group for a leading clinical health care diagnostics company.

Responsibilities:

• Determine the acceptability of specimens for testing according to established criteria.
• Perform routine and complex technical procedures and functions according to departmental Standard Operating Procedures.
• Monitor, operate, and troubleshoot instrumentation to ensure proper functionality.
• Make technical decisions regarding testing and problem solving.
• Prepare, test, and evaluate new reagents or controls.
• Report accurate and timely test results to deliver quality patient care.
• Perform and document preventive maintenance and quality control procedures.
• Identify and replenish testing bench supplies as necessary.
• Assist with processing of specimens when needed.
• Maintain a safe work environment and wear appropriate personal protective equipment.

Qualifications:

• BS/AS Degree in Medical Technology, Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Laboratory Science, OR Medical Laboratory Technology (No experience required with these degrees).
• Bachelor's degree in Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Microbiology, or related life science field AND 12 months of CLIA/CAP lab testing experience.
• Experience in Chemistry, Immunology, Hematology, and Immunochemistry.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• ASCP or AMT certification is preferred.
• Instrument troubleshooting and calibration experience.
• Prior validation experience is nice to have.
• Proficiency with computers and familiarity with laboratory information systems.
• Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
• High level of attention to detail along with strong communication and organizational skills.
• Must be able to pass a standardized color vision screen.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Indianapolis, IN.

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $36.00/hr.
