What are the responsibilities and job description for the Geotechnical Lab Technician position at Actalent?
We are seeking a dedicated Geotechnical Lab Technician who can independently manage projects within our laboratory. The position involves overseeing geotechnical testing and processes, with opportunities to engage in field assignments as well as in-office testing.
Responsibilities- Oversee and conduct geotechnical testing and analysis.
- Work independently on various lab projects.
- Participate in both field assignments and office testing when required.
- Ensure accuracy and quality in test results and reporting.
- Utilize tools such as nuclear gauges for soil density and concrete testing.
- Experience in soil testing and geotechnical analysis.
- Understanding of construction materials testing.
- Competency in report writing and soil compaction techniques.
- Completion of a radiation safety course.
- Geotechnical lab experience is preferred.
- Open to entry-level candidates seeking a career in the geotechnical field.
- Certification such as SB101/102/103 or NICET Level 1 in Soils, Concrete, Asphalt is advantageous.
The role is within a department of approximately 20 people, with a smaller, close-knit Geotechnical team. The company is family-focused, celebrating its employees through events such as an annual Christmas party where gifts are given to employees and their families.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $18.00 - $22.00/hr.
