Geotechnical Engineer Orange, California, USA Architecture, Environmental, & Civil 120000 USD - 155000 USD/year Office Engineer – Geotechnical (California PE Preferred) Location: Orange County, CA Company: Privately held engineering consulting firm with 50+ years of service About the Role We are seeking an experienced Office Engineer with a strong background in technical report writing to join our geotechnical team in Orange County. This position is primarily office-based (approximately 80% office, 20% field) and offers opportunities for collaboration with engineers and geologists across multiple offices. Key Responsibilities Technical Report Writing: Core responsibility and non-negotiable. Candidates must demonstrate strong experience in preparing high-quality geotechnical reports. Review reports and assist with proposal writing as needed. Handle client communication and project coordination. Perform occasional fieldwork for project monitoring. Optional involvement in business development and mentorship if desired. Required Qualifications PE license in California strongly preferred; EITs close to licensure will be considered if they have exceptional report writing skills. Undergraduate degree in Civil Engineering (required for PE eligibility in California). Master’s degree in Geotechnical Engineering or related field is a plus but not required. Ability to sign off on reports (requires PE license). Collaboration skills to work with geologists and engineers within a team environment. Lab oversight experience is not required but considered a plus. Additional Details Business development and mentoring are valued but not mandatory.
