Job Title: Gameplay Software Engineer II
Job Description
We are seeking an innovative Gameplay Software Engineer II to join our team and contribute to the development of Horizon Worlds. This role involves creating NPC tools and sample TypeScript code to demonstrate NPC behaviors, suitable for both creator samples and AI training.
Responsibilities
- Create sample TypeScript code to demonstrate NPC behaviors in Horizon Worlds.
- Develop both simple and complex examples for creator samples and AI training.
- Participate in all phases of product development lifecycle, including requirements definition, specifications development, testing, product release, and sustaining engineering.
Essential Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent industry experience.
- 3-5 years of game development experience.
- Proficiency in TypeScript.
- Ability to work independently with minimal outside supervision.
- Capability to multi-task, prioritize, and be flexible in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
- A habit of writing super-clean, encapsulated, testable, and well-documented code.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Working knowledge of 3D math.
- Experience with version control and build systems.
- Familiarity with AI navigation, Recast/Detour, or game AI techniques.
- Proficiency in 3D animation tools such as Autodesk Maya, Blender, or 3ds Max.
- Experience with Unity, Unreal Engine, or similar systems.
Work Environment
The work environment involves 75% development work and 25% collaboration with cross-functional teams. The role requires significant collaboration, ensuring a diverse and inclusive atmosphere where innovation thrives. You will be working closely with tooling side of the product, focusing on building tools for creators.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $50.00/hr.
