Federal Construction Project Manager

Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead large, complex federal construction projects from preconstruction through closeout. This role carries full responsibility for schedule, budget, contracts, and profit & loss, and requires strong leadership across multidisciplinary project teams.

The ideal candidate has successfully managed $30M federal construction projects, understands federal contracting requirements, and brings a disciplined, detail‑oriented approach to planning, buyout, execution, and closeout. Experience with USACE projects is highly preferred. This position requires limited travel—approximately once a month for about 3 days at a time.

Responsibilities:

• Manage federal construction projects from preconstruction through closeout
• Own project budget, schedule, contract administration, and P&L
• Develop and manage GMPs, including cost control and forecasting
• Lead subcontractor buyout, negotiation, and contract administration
• Manage change order pricing, negotiation, and execution
• Oversee schedule development and updates (Primavera P6 preferred)
• Coordinate closely with clients, owners, architects, and engineers
• Ensure compliance with federal requirements, safety standards, and documentation
• Maintain accurate WIP reporting and financial forecasting
• Assess project risks and implement mitigation strategies
• Lead and mentor project teams, fostering collaboration and accountability
• Oversee project documentation, reporting, and final closeout activities

Qualifications:

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field
• 5 years of experience as a Construction Project Manager
• Experience managing $30M federal construction projects
• Strong understanding of federal compliance and documentation requirements
• Willingness to travel approximately once per month (3 days at a time)

Preferred Qualifications:

• USACE project experience
• Primavera P6 scheduling experience

This is a Permanent position based out of Colorado Springs, CO.

The pay range for this position is $95000.00 - $130000.00/yr.
