Job Title: Fabrication Lab Technician
Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Lab Technician to join our team in Meriden. As a Technician, you will be responsible for executing work orders to process and fabricate germanium and silicon-based crystals into functional radiation detection diodes. This role requires handling acids and other chemicals, as well as using and performing routine maintenance on evaporators, sputtering machines, and other systems.
Responsibilities
- Conduct final surface preparation of germanium crystals.
- Perform final surface preparation of silicon elements.
- Operate ion implanter and vacuum deposition equipment.
- Conduct routine equipment maintenance.
- Test finished crystals to ensure quality and functionality.
- Troubleshoot process problems as they arise.
- Train junior technicians in processing techniques when necessary.

Work Environment

The position offers the opportunity to progress to a Level II Technician within 1-2 years based on performance, with potential to transition into a lead troubleshooting role. The facility includes offices for HR and corporate functions, labs, and manufacturing shop floors.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Meriden, CT.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $28.00/hr.
