Estimator

The Senior Estimator is responsible for contributing to the annual booking goal, understanding backlog needs, and maximizing profitability. This role involves preparing complete estimates for projects of varying size and complexity across multiple disciplines. The Senior Estimator will engage in business development and industry events to build customer relations, collaborating within a team environment.

• Adhere to and implement established estimating processes.
• Assist the Estimating Manager in coordinating corporate estimating functions.
• Review proposal specifications, drawings, geotechnical information, and labor and material requirements.
• Prepare itemized lists and attend site walks and pre-bid meetings to determine the scope of work.
• Calculate the complete takeoff of the scope of work and determine cost-effectiveness.
• Accurately quantify and price labor, equipment, materials, and subcontractors.
• Write detailed scopes of work, including terms and conditions, inclusions, and exclusions for bid proposals.
• Interface with Owners and Architects/Engineers to provide necessary pricing, proposals, and value engineering ideas.
• Follow up on submitted proposals and discuss them in weekly estimating meetings.
• Maintain proficiency with relevant software for takeoff, estimate/bid creation, scheduling, subcontractor solicitation, office management, and customer relationship management.
• Visit current project sites when feasible to gain knowledge of production and construction methods.
• Assist in creating a yearly Business Plan and stay informed about market trends.
• Coordinate staff training with the Estimating Manager.
• Review assignments of Estimators and Junior Estimators for accuracy and completeness.
• Facilitate the growth of Junior Estimator & Estimator.
• Research future opportunities and projects through personal contacts or online search engines.
• Attend industry events and engage in business development with Owners, Architects/Engineers, vendors, and other contractors.
• Participate in industry or trade group association committees and boards.
• Prepare for and lead Hand-Off, Kick-Off, and Post Project Review Meetings with Project Managers & Field Staff.
• Provide estimating support for change orders as needed.

• Proficiency in estimation and construction practices.
• Experience with estimating software.
• Knowledge of site development processes.

• Expertise in Civil/Site Development.
• Experience in Grading and Utilities.
• Familiarity with Agtek and Heavybid software.

The Senior Estimator will work in a collaborative team environment, utilizing advanced estimating software to manage projects effectively. The role requires participation in site visits and industry events, with a focus on continuous learning and development.

This is a Permanent position based out of Cary, NC.

The pay range for this position is $110000.00 - $130000.00/yr.

Salary : $110,000 - $130,000
