Job Title: Estimator

We are seeking a highly skilled Estimator to develop detailed cost estimates and schedules from plans, specifications, and site conditions. This role requires close collaboration with project managers and leadership to ensure field operations align with project goals.

Responsibilities

• Develop detailed cost estimates and schedules from plans, specs, and site conditions.
• Work closely with project managers and leadership to align field operations with project goals.
• Manage procurement of materials and equipment to stay on budget and schedule.
• Track productivity, safety compliance, and project milestones.
• Maintain accurate records of costs, quantities, and performance data.
• Assist with pre-construction tasks including meetings and vendor coordination.
• Identify process improvements to boost efficiency and reduce rework.

• Minimum of 2 years of direct construction estimating experience.
• Proficiency in construction management, construction, schedule planning, and project management.
• Experience in reporting, estimation, subcontractor management, and critical path analysis.
• Strong communication and documentation skills.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and project documentation.
• Experience with estimating software.

• Familiar with construction methods, materials, and scheduling practices.
• Experience with construction document management.
• Knowledge of MS Project.

This role is with a full-service commercial general contractor providing services within Corporate Workplace, Private Education, Multi-Housing, Building Repurposing, Hospitality, and Healthcare/Wellness sectors. Work takes place Monday through Friday, from 7/8 AM to 5 PM, with an office located downtown and primarily on job sites. The dress code includes jeans, work boots, and an appropriate sweatshirt or t-shirt. The Des Moines office has been operational since 2020 and can accommodate up to 15 individuals.
