Job Summary:
The Laboratory Technician plays a vital role in supporting daily laboratory operations. This includes maintaining laboratory and storage areas, managing equipment and supplies, and ensuring compliance with quality assurance protocols and standard operating procedures. Technicians are expected to utilize standard laboratory methods, techniques, and instrumentation to assist in accurate and efficient sample analysis.
Key Responsibilities:
- Retrieve and organize samples from Sample Control for analysis
- Conduct sample preparation tasks such as aliquoting, spiking, tracing, reagent preparation, bottling, concentration adjustments, separation, sonication, and liquid rack setup
- Identify and resolve labeling discrepancies to ensure sample integrity
- Maintain accurate documentation including analysis results, sample tracking, bench sheets, and lab logbooks
- Clean and prepare laboratory glassware for future use
- Monitor and restock laboratory supplies to ensure operational readiness
Required Skills:
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
- Foundational knowledge of laboratory testing procedures and techniques
- Basic data analysis skills with accurate documentation capabilities
Education & Experience:
- High school diploma or GED required
- 0–2 years of relevant laboratory experience preferred
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $19.00/hr.
