Job Title: Estimator

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced commercial project estimator to join our full-service general contracting team. The role involves estimating for ground-up and renovation projects such as medical offices, grocery stores, churches, and retail buildings, with project values ranging from $200k to $50 million. The ideal candidate will support current projects and change orders, and perform conceptual estimates for projects in the bid stage without architectural drawings.

Responsibilities

• Support current projects and manage change orders.
• Perform conceptual estimates for projects in the bid stage.
• Conduct detailed and unit price estimates.
• Review documents, interpret blueprints, and evaluate bids.
• Analyze budgets and conduct assembly, area, and trimble live count takeoffs.
• Utilize tools such as Bluebeam, Procore, and Trimble Accubid for estimating tasks.
• Attend pre-bid meetings at job sites 1-2 times per week.

Essential Skills

• 8 years of experience estimating commercial projects from $200k to $50 million.
• Proficiency in reading and bidding from new build blueprints and managing change order requests.
• Strong and confident personality.
• Experience with construction management, commercial construction, and preconstruction tasks.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Ability to perform conceptual bids for commercial projects.
• Experience with general contracting, not subcontracting.
• Familiarity with tools such as Bluebeam, Procore, Accubid, and other estimation software.

Work Environment

The role is a salaried position, typically working 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday from 8 AM to 4:30/5 PM with some flexibility. The work involves occasional overnight travel and visiting job sites in the Midland area, Alpena, Sault Ste. Marie, Metro Detroit, and Grand Rapids. Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $80000.00 - $130000.00/hr.
