Estimator - Entry-mid Level

The Estimator is responsible for preparing comprehensive project estimates, including determining material quantities, pricing, and coordinating with subcontractors and material vendors as needed.

Responsibilities

• Develop detailed project estimates.
• Review and interpret project plans and specifications.
• Perform quantity take-offs and calculate material requirements.
• Solicit bids from trade partners and review quotes for accuracy.
• Prepare alternative construction take-offs and pricing when required.
• Incorporate scheduling considerations into estimates.
• Participate in estimate review meetings.
• Revise cost estimates based on feedback from stakeholders.
• Stay informed on current market pricing for materials, labor, and equipment.
• Assist team members in gathering information that may impact project scope.
• Identify and onboard new trade partners as needed.
• Share estimate details with project teams during hand-off meetings.
• Archive project-specific information for future reference.
• Attend pre-bid meetings when applicable.
• Participate in project interviews when required.

• Proficiency in relevant software, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Project), On-Screen Takeoff, and PDF editing tools.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to analyze information and make sound decisions.

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Estimating, Construction Management, Construction Engineering, or equivalent experience preferred.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Sioux Falls, SD.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $38.00 - $48.00/hr.
