What are the responsibilities and job description for the Entry Level Specimen Processor position at Actalent?
Currently hiring for multiple long-term openings in a medical laboratory to help process samples and specimens. This is an entry-level role (no degree required) and will primarily focus on processing, scanning, packaging, and performing data entry for various human based specimens/tests.
An ideal candidate will have consistent work experience and at least some experience in a fast paced or medical/healthcare environment. These are all full-time positions plus overtime.
Pay:$17.25/hour (set starting rate, will be evaluated for raises over time)
Shift Available: All openings are 3rd shift. Specific hours are:
- 4am - 12:30pm, Monday - Friday plus overtime
- 4am - 12:30pm, Tuesday - Saturday plus overtime
- 10pm - 7:30am, Monday - Friday plus overtime
OVERTIME INFO: All shifts will require overtime. Typically this includes 1-2 hours of daily overtime, and rotating 1 weekend day every 2-3 weeks
- All hours over 40 will be paid at 1.5x
Job Duties
- Scan samples into the system and verify labels are accurate.
- Perform data entry.
- Process and sort samples.
- Package specimens up in the laboratory
- Insert specimens into appropriate machinery/equipment.
- Put caps on specimens after running it through machinery.
- Process specimens to be sent out to additional facilities.
- Provide support to various areas of the laboratory.
- Perform sample sorting, racking and retrieving.
- Prepare record logs in a timely and efficient manner.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
Qualifications:
- Must have work experience, but can be from a variety of industries.
- Must have a completed High School Diploma or GED
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $17.25 - $17.25/hr.
