Responsibilities
- Collect and analyze project data to support transportation improvement projects.
- Lead or assist in the design and development of roadway plans, specifications, design calculations, and technical documents.
- Calculate quantities and develop cost estimates for various projects.
- Produce comprehensive plan sets for transportation projects.
- Collaborate with other design disciplines to ensure integrated project delivery.
- Utilize excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills to address project challenges.
- Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, to coordinate with team members and stakeholders.
Essential Skills
- Proficiency in Civil 3D and AutoCAD Civil 3D.
- Understanding of site development, grading, drainage, stormwater management, and site plan design.
- Holds an EIT certification and has a background in civil design.
- Experience or knowledge in land development and project management.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- BS or MS degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited university.
- 0 - 2 years of experience in civil engineering.
- Previous internships with civil engineering firms are advantageous.
- Familiarity with MicroStation, GEOPAK/Corridor Modeling, and OpenRoads Designer.
- Knowledge of roadway design guidelines, standards, and specifications, particularly NCDOT, is beneficial.
- Experience in NCDOT highway design is a plus.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $40.00/hr.
