Engineer - Nuclear-Level 4

This position is for a Capital Projects Electrical Engineer located at the Jupiter West Corporate office. The role involves providing a technical interface with engineering firms on project development and preparing or reviewing engineering documents using applicable industry and regulatory standards.

• Provide technical interface with engineering firms on project development.
• Prepare and review engineering documents using industry and regulatory standards.
• Be knowledgeable of nuclear industry standards and design processes.
• Perform independent design verification and prepare stand-alone electrical calculations.
• Prepare procurement specifications in compliance with 10CFR50.59.
• Demonstrate proficiency with molded case circuit breakers, motor starters, thermal overloads, low and medium voltage power breakers and switchgear, industrial battery chargers, inverters or UPS, 125Vdc battery systems, Emergency Diesel Generators (EDGs), large dry type or oil filled transformers, main generators, and voltage regulators.
• Preferably have experience with ladder logic, electrical schematics, NSCA/safe shutdown analysis, Appendix R/NFPA 805 power systems analysis, load flow, short circuit analysis, arc flash coordination studies, and computational tools such as ETAP and EDISON.

• Minimum of 12 years of Nuclear Electrical experience.
• Familiarity with 10 CFR 50.59.
• Experience in Power System Design, ETAP, Edison, ladder logic, short circuit analysis, analog and digital systems, arc flash coordination studies, breaker systems, motor starters, switchgear, UPS, low and medium voltage systems, electrical schematics, and power plant design.

• At least 12 years of collective nuclear experience in US nuclear power plants.
• Experience in other industries such as fossil oil/gas power plants, wind, solar, geothermal, transmission/distribution, oil and gas, petrochemical, etc. is not considered nuclear experience.
• Prior experience as a cognizant/oversight engineer or in engineering project management is preferred but not required.
• More design/project engineering experience than project management-related experience is preferred.
• Ability to prepare or review/verify design output documents for internally developed design changes.

This position offers a remote work environment.

This is a Contract position based out of Juno Beach, FL.

The pay range for this position is $70.00 - $80.00/hr.
