Job Description
Join a dynamic team responsible for conducting Building Condition Assessment System (BCAS) inspections in Queens and Brooklyn. As an Electrical Inspector, you will be part of a 4-person team, focusing on fieldwork to perform detailed site surveys. Your role involves using an intuitive iPad application to document inspection results. The position includes a comprehensive 3-week training period to ensure proficiency in the required tasks.
Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough electrical inspections and surveys in accordance with BCAS requirements.
- Collaborate with a team of inspectors to assess building conditions, including HVAC equipment.
- Document findings accurately using provided technology.
- Perform inspections during non-peak hours to minimize disruption.
- Adhere to safety standards and protocols, explicitly excluding asbestos evaluations.
Essential Skills
- 5 years of experience in electrical inspection and surveying.
- Proficiency in building condition assessment inspections.
- Experience with HVAC equipment inspection.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience within NYCHA and BCAS environments.
- Background in architecture, construction, and MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) systems.
Work Environment
This role involves 100% fieldwork, with inspections scheduled from September through Memorial Day Weekend. The work is conducted during non-peak hours, with opportunities for returning candidates to take summers off or engage in freelance work. The dress code and additional specifics about the work environment will be provided during the onboarding process.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of NEW YORK, NY.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $35.00 - $55.00/hr.
