What are the responsibilities and job description for the Electrical Engineer position at Actalent?
This position is responsible for the electrical design and development engineering for all equipment, including engineering calculations, layouts, and schematic diagrams utilizing our Computer Assisted Design (CAD) system along with PLC & HMI code. It also involves providing customer technical support, as well as manufacturing support for sub-contracted and in-house manufactured control systems.
Responsibilities- Design and develop electrical systems for equipment.
- Perform engineering calculations, layouts, and schematic diagrams.
- Utilize CAD systems along with PLC and HMI code.
- Provide technical support to customers.
- Support manufacturing processes for control systems.
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering.
- Proficiency in PLCs/RS Logix - Allen Bradley or Siemens for programming, modifying, and troubleshooting.
- Experience with HMI software such as FactoryTalk or similar.
- Experience controlling VFDs through HMI and PLCs.
- Knowledge of AutoCAD Electrical preferred, general CAD knowledge required.
- 5 years of experience with Rockwell Rslogix500 and RsLogix5000 platforms along with FactoryTalk View.
- Working knowledge of commercial machinery control devices, including proximity switches, solenoid valves, transducers, switches, buttons, and lamps.
- Sound understanding of principles and application of AC & DC motor control systems, mostly with VFDs.
Work in an office setting with a total of about 35 employees, including 1 Mechanical Engineer, 3 Electrical Engineers, 2 Engineering Technicians, and an Engineering Manager. The company operates globally and collaborates closely with a team in Germany. Employees gain a lot of hands-on experience and exposure to the full product development life cycle of equipment design and build. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $48.00 - $57.00/hr.
