Job Description
The Electrical Design Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, and documenting electrical and control systems for industrial facilities, with a strong focus on AutoCAD Electrical and code-compliant solutions. You will produce detailed electrical drawings and control documentation while supporting PLC-based control systems and industrial equipment. This position combines hands-on design work with close collaboration across engineering, field, and project teams in a supportive, family-oriented environment.
Responsibilities
- Develop and modify AutoCAD Electrical drawing packages, including panel layouts, schematics, PLC I/O drawings, and network/communication layouts.
- Interpret and work from existing drawing packages, redlines, and field markups.
- Perform controls design support for PLC systems (Allen-Bradley primarily), VFDs, and motor control systems.
- Update and generate as-built documentation.
- Maintain drawing standards, including title blocks, layering, symbol libraries, and consistent formatting.
- Coordinate with internal engineering, estimating, and field teams.
Qualifications:
- 4-7 years experience with AutoCAD Electrical
- Experience with control panel design or layout
- Experience working with industrial control systems or conveyor systems
- Knowledge of OHSA standards and NEC codes
- Familiarity with UL508A panel design practices preferred
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Rocklin, CA.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $35.00 - $55.00/hr.
