Job Description

The Electrical Controls Technician will serve as the team’s subject matter expert in controls and electrical systems.

This role involves close collaboration with Floor Leads and Operators to troubleshoot issues and enhance machine performance, including PLCs, HMIs, electrical components, and overall process optimization. In addition to supporting daily operations, the technician may also contribute to specific engineering projects. You must have the ability to hit the ground running with troubleshooting and electrical diagnostics, as well as possess strong organizational and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage and prioritize multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
• Work with legacy equipment, demonstrating strong skills in reading prints and diagnosing electrical problems.
• Provide leadership and mentorship to team members.
• Communicate effectively through participation in daily and weekly team meetings, document, and route process changes as needed.
• Design and implement control systems to support operational improvements.

Essential Skills

• 2 years of experience in manufacturing/automation
• 2 years of PLC & HMI programming and troubleshooting (Allen-Bradley, Omron)
• Proficiency in troubleshooting electrical systems
• Proficiency in using AutoCAD and Solidworks
• Project management experience
• Experience with PLC troubleshooting

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Familiarity with Motion Controllers and Automated Metal Turning machines
• CAD experience (Solidworks, AutoCAD Electrical)

Work Environment

You will work in a highly automated manufacturing environment with exposure to a variety of equipment and product lines.

This role offers the opportunity to extend and potentially secure a long-term position if you are a great fit. Flexibility in working hours is required, ideally on a 2nd shift from 2:45-11:15 M-F, with some crossover required with the 2nd shift. You must have your own tools aside from those provided by OSHA.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Otsego, MI.

The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $37.00/hr.

This is a fully onsite position in Otsego,MI.
