What are the responsibilities and job description for the EHS Technician position at Actalent?
Serve as the key operational liaison from Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) with staff in laboratories and manufacturing. Demonstrate safety as a core value and establish a safe work environment by actively leading the safe execution of work.
Responsibilities- Support and drive incident investigations to ensure the root cause is determined and appropriate Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPAs) are designed and implemented.
- Analyze accident and incident reports and data for trends; make recommendations for correcting unsafe conditions and actions.
- Support EHS aspects of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and work processes, including authoring EHS-related work instructions and investigations.
- Conduct new employee and contractor EHS orientation and onboarding, including training, fit-testing, and hazard communication.
- Inspect workplace environments and activities to verify compliance with federal laws and regulations.
- Support EHS program development and execution, such as Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), hot work, and confined space.
- Assist in the completion of regulatory and internal procedures, including environmental sampling, testing, report preparation, incident investigation, inspections, and audits.
- Audit document files and safety programs to ensure compliance with external and internal EHS and quality assurance requirements.
- Perform routine training on OSHA programs as assigned.
- Organize programs for employee safety and conduct educational training to instruct all workers on proper workplace behavior and activity.
- Ensure timely completion and compliance with current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) and all other relevant company training requirements.
- Bachelor's degree in Sciences, preferably Chemistry or Biochemistry, with at least one year of chemistry experience.
- Proficiency in computer use, including navigating file folders and using software such as MasterControl and current SDS software.
- Experience in EHS and safety-related roles.
- Strong analytical skills for trend analysis and incident investigation.
The EHS Technician will work both in the EHS office and the production area. The position offers flexibility with start times between 7-9 am and an average schedule of 8-4:30 pm from Monday to Friday. There is potential for exposure to other departments within the facility, providing opportunities for role advancement if openings exist.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $24.00 - $24.00/hr.
